The Unity of the Entires

Media-performance Festival

What if contemporary art for you is essentially the most natural form of self-knowledge and social self-identification? So much so that you don’t even insist on being part of it or having any particular place in it. You have just discovered something new and, at the same time, intimate, and under no circumstances will you be willing to get out of it. There is a moment when it becomes a physical necessity to share your discoveries with somebody. To find a kindred spirit. To do together that which is impossible alone. Everything is simple. Not at all some preternatural conceptual philosophy.

The Museum. The experimental educational program Laboratory for Media-performance. Constant creative collaboration, existence in the mode of persistent interactivity. Is it not the essence of performativity? To stay on the border. The border between the representational and theatrical, between concept and innovation, and between rehearsed schemes and experimental exploration.

Contemporary media are physiological, technically their functioning is an extension of sensory and mental perception mechanisms. Where physical abilities cease to function they offer almost infinite material for the realization of artists' fantasies, which seemed improbable beforehand. Media-performance intrinsically satisfies modernistic dreams of manmachine symbiosis. The result of such an interpenetration of the human and technogenic is unpredictable. Furthermore, it is impossible to emphasize the supremacy of one or the other aspect, which engage in a perpetual race with each other, forming a unity of imagery and meaning. The unity of the Entires.
